First Note

Featuring the work of Matt Coombs, Steven Pennett, Andy N Li, Hyoju Cheon, Crystal Marshall, Sarah Sipling, Maria Haag, and Misha Davydov.

“First impression matters, by that I mean the sensation one gets from encountering an art work for the first time. The work of the eight emerging artists selected for Project Gallery V’s winter open calls covers a variety of subjects; bodily, environmental and social concerns. The work all conveys a certain conviction; a need to express, to explain, to display, to translate, to dignify, to examine, to be in dialogue. Think of it as a jazz compilation of sorts, think perhaps only in the abstract, but do try to hold on to the feeling when the first note strikes you.”
